Barcelona: Getting from Airport to Cruise Port
If you have booked a Mediterranean cruise there is a good chance you will be sailing from Barcelona. Sitting in the top 10 worlds busiest cruise ports by passenger numbers and taking the number one spot in Europe, over 2.6 million cruise passengers go through Barcelona port each year.
how do you get to the cruise port from Barcelona–El Prat Airport?
It’s a question we get asked all the time and the good news – it’s really easy. In fact it is our preferred port to catch the ship, at only a short taxi ride away and a fixed cost, it makes the start of your vacation that little bit easier.
Taxi, bus or train?
There is no direct train or bus service from the airport to the cruise pier, it can however be done following the instructions on this website. As we alluded to earlier, we highly recommend the taxi service located just outside the airport terminal building. Loaded up with suitcases and bags, it’s the hassle free way to get there. Simply follow the taxi signage in the airport terminal and enter the queue. Outside peak season the taxi queue is usually short.
How long will it take to get to the cruise pier?
Around 20 minutes in a taxi, the cruise port is around 11 miles away from the airport.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is fixed at €39 door to door.
Does the taxi take me close to where the ship is docked?
Yes, in fact right to the cruise terminal doors. The taxi driver will ask which ship you are boarding so they can take you to the correct ship.
Will I be able to get a taxi from the cruise port on disembarkation day?
Not having transport pre-booked can leave you feeling nervous about catching that early morning flight. We have never had any issue grabbing a cab from outside the ship. Simply join the queue and you’ll be on your way.
